Happy New Year! (+ updates)

Hey guys! I know it's a little late, but Happy New Year! I hope you all had a merry Christmas too :D Just a quick post today to update you guys on a few things, this year is going to be exciting I can feel it!

Tutorials on Super Cute Kawaii!

Some of you may be aware that I applied to be a writer for the cute blog Super Cute Kawaii recently. I wrote 3 guest posts for the blog to gauge response and one of which was a polymer clay cupcake tutorial, which was so well received that I was asked to write a monthly craft tutorial for the blog! My first proper tutorial went out earlier today, make sure you check it out here!

You can check out my other posts on SCK here (or check the new link at the right hand side!)

Anime Conventions and cosplays this year (so far)

Having gone to a few conventions last year, the urge to go to more is so strong! Maybe this year will be the year I have the funds to go to London for Hyper Japan, but for now the conventions I'll definitely be attending are:
  • Sunderland Comic Con (21st Feb)
  • Sunnycon (26-28th June) - I will also be selling here!
  • Anime Attacks (TBA)
I'm also thinking about going to Yorkshire Cosplay Con again this year, but that will depend on money and how to get to the venue. I might also go to King Con this year too!

You may remember my previous post on my cosplay wishlist, and I'm hoping to put most of those cosplays into action this year! I'm hoping to be cross dress Yu Narukami at Sunderland Comic Con (Nico if that doesn't happen in time), I'll be Nagisa and Nico at Sunnycon, and maybe Yu or Rise for Anime Attacks. If I go to any other small cons I'll be either Nico or my Persona cosplays.

Finally, Goals for 2015 and 20k Subscribers!

I recently reached 20,000 subscribers on my Youtube, and I just want to say a huge thank you for everyone! I also made a goals for 2015 video, which is something I've done for the past 3 years. It's really useful to look back on those videos each year and see how much I've achieved! Check out my goals video below:

I think that will be all for the updates, all I'm gonna say is that in terms of my shop, I have a super secret and awesome collaboration happening this year, and though I'll have to work super hard to keep everything going, I'm excited!

My Skin Condition

I've been wanting to write this post for a while, but also been very nervous about it. I mean, what's a post about my skin without showing photographs of it? It's been getting so much better recently though, so I thought I would make a post explaining my condition, and what I've been through for the past 10 or so years of my life with it.

What I have is called Psoriasis. Normal skin creates new skin cells and sheds the old ones at a reasonable pace, you don't generally notice it happening. However psoriasis is caused by the skin creating new cells at a more rapid pace, meaning the skin sheds dead cells more noticeably. Because of the extra blood supply needed to 'power' these skin cells, it leaves red, dry skin patches all over the body. Some people just have it on their scalp, some just on hands or feet, or some just have it all over. I've had it bad, but I've seen people with much worse conditions on the internet. I'll spare you the photos, but feel free to Google them if you're curious.

Fun fact: around 2% of the world's population have psoriasis, which is more people that own a pet budgie and around the same amount that have pet fish. (don't quote me on that like, I read it in a leaflet years ago!)

I've been lucky and never really had it on my face or hands, the two parts of my body I can't cover up with clothing or hair. One of the reasons I have my full fringe is to hide the skin on my forehead (not to mention that I suit a fringe ;D) I've had it all over my body and scalp too, which meant I couldn't do things like swimming, not that I physically couldn't, I just didn't want to show off my skin in any way. PE in school was difficult, as I would try and get changed as quickly as I could, while also hiding my body with the clothes I was putting on or taking off. I was also fortunate in that I was never bullied for it. Maybe people realised that it was something I couldn't control, or maybe they just felt sorry for me. I was bullied for other things but that's beside the point (plus that was before I got psoriasis) In fact, the only time people have mentioned it is in Youtube comments (just shows how people hiding behind a computer monitor aren't afraid to be rude asses)

I can't remember exactly when I got it, but I think I was around 11 or 12 at the time. It just randomly started appearing, perhaps due to puberty. They say it's hereditary, but no-one in my family has had it before, as far as I know. It's just a mystery.

Long Time No See

Well it's been a while...

To be honest, I've not really had the time to blog, nor have I had anything interesting to blog about! Looking back at my old blogspot (which I've forgotten the login for) it made me want to get back into doing reviews and posting about my new creations and purchases again. I make videos for pretty much everything I can on Youtube, but there'll always be things I don't get around to filming, or that I don't want to make a video for. For example, posts about a new growing obsession with Pullip ball jointed dolls, or new anime I'm watching, or cosplay; and since I don't want to bombard my Youtube subscribers with videos about things they might not be interested in, I might as well blog about my interests other than crafting.

Thinking about it, a new year would be a great time to start blogging again, even if it was only twice a month, that would be 24 new blog posts each year, and something that people can read about my interests and life without watching videos. Of course, I'll probably blog about things I've filmed about, or mentioned on Youtube, but it'll be nice to have somewhere else to share it as well.

I've already made a video about my goals for 2014, but I'd like to add one more, to blog!

I want to revamp this blog, change the banner and theme a bit once I have photos that will better represent what I want to write about. I want to share photos of the Pullip doll I just ordered and I'm waiting her arrival, I want to show progress photos and maybe DIY a custom doll, show you how I'm trying to make a cosplay sword for my Mirai Kuriyama cosplay, more hauls, reviews, and just general life things.

It'll be fun! I hope...

I'd also love ideas on what you'd like me to blog about! It can be anything I haven't mentioned, or maybe even something specific like a review on a certain shop or item I own~

Well, I'm gonna go spruce up my blog a little, and think of other ideas to write about!
